Told from the perspective of a hospice social worker, Hospice Tails is a baker’s dozen of stories about the animal companions of hospice patients and their families.

In these pages you will meet King, an abused pit bull fiercely loyal to his rescuer, Fizzle, a teacup poodle who guarded his human in death as well as life, Io and Oi, two cats who facilitated a beautiful conversation between their owners, and Lightning, a horse who helped a widower find the strength to go on.

Uplifting, matter-of-fact, sometimes funny and never sappy, Hospice Tails will change the way you think about the animals in your life.

My Review:
This book was AMAZING! It’s filled with lovable, bundles of fur, big as horses and small as sweet cats, and the owners that come with them. You’ll laugh among these pages, you’ll cry among them, and best of all, you’ll look at your pets in a whole new light!

Being an owner of 2 adorable Cocker Spaniels who really seem to have a bond of unique attachment to my kids, I can see where hospice nurse Debra Stang got her inspiration for writing this book. It’s a book that will have you so emotionally moved both with happiness and sadness, that you’ll want to keep this book forever and ever (though, sadly AND happily, I am passing on my copy in compliance to the tour!). Seeing the way that the animals just simply seem to KNOW what their owners need or don’t need, was incredible. It really was an eye opening experiencing.

Hospice nurse Debra Stang really knew what she was doing when she created this book. It’s perfect for ANY animal lover, or for those debating whether or not to get an aging parent, or friend, or grandparent a special bundle of fur. From companionship to loyalty, this 5 Book worthy collection of stories from a talented author is sure to hit home with everyone! I highly recommend this book to everyone who has or has had, or wants to have those sweet little (and big!) friends!

Hi Beth, Animals can be so soothing, and they can play such an important role in people’s lives. Even I was surprised at how deeply involved they were in the lives of my hospice patients.
