Review: The Iron King by Julie Kagawa

Review: The Iron King by Julie Kagawa

My Thoughts: I usually don’t read books about faeries and the like. I love werewolves and vampires but faeries…..well, they don’t hold my attention that well. However, I’ve heard loads of good things in regards to Ms. Kagawa’s writing style that I just had to give in and read The Iron King. It was my first read for 2015 and I’m happy to say that despite the fact that I don’t like reading about the Fey I’m totally into Ms. Kagawa’s work! I loved this book. It was definitely a great start to the new year! The beginning of the book, I will admit, was a little slow for me. I had trouble focusing and staying focused. But, I was determined to read it…..and to like it…..so I pushed on and on and I finished the story in just one day. And, I fell in love with the story line and the characters. Book Review:Intertwined by Gena Showalter

Book Review:Intertwined by Gena Showalter

My Thoughts: I am a huge fan of Gena Showalter since I read her Alice In Zombieland book. It was amazing! She really has a talented hand for creating stories that are always lively, never boring. She pulls the reader straight to the heart of the story and keeps them there following the characters every step of the way.  Intertwined was an awesome start to a series that I know I will love through out. Ms. Showalter created intense scenes and characters in this novel. I loved Aden so much! He was a strongly created character and I totally crushed on him through the story. (Shhh….let’s not tell that little secret, shall we?) I can’t imagine what life was like for him!  Victoria, Riley and Mary Anne are all wonderfully created, as well. They were truly amazing and I loved following them and their quirkiness.  With Aden, Victoria, Riley and Mary Anne, Ms. Showalter added a blend of elements here. A vampire, werewolf, human……something you usually don’t hear about in one set book. But, Ms. Showalter did it fabulously and I can’t wait to read book 2 in this amazing series! Fantastically done, Ms. Showalter, on creating a 4 star… Read more »
