Review: Beyond Justice by Cara Putnam

Review: Beyond Justice by Cara Putnam

My Thoughts:  I absolutely love Cara Putman and her whirlwind rides she gives us with each new book. Beyond Justice is a wonderful addition to her work! From the first page, Ms. Putnam had me, hook-line-sinker, right in the middle of an intense story that she filled with soul stealing characters and a roller coaster ride!  Ms. Putman weaves a story filled with not just wonderfully created characters, but edge-of-seat, heart-pounding suspense with a dash of romance, and a whole lot of seeking out God. I was biting my nails, pulling my hair, sliding to the edge of my seat…..well, let’s just say I could not sit still through this entire book. Just when I would think I had it all figured out, praying to God I had it right, Ms. Putnam would throw in a new page turner and bam. I’m swept right back up in to the roller coaster.  This is definitely a 4 star book. Anything less would be a disgrace to this amazing suspense novel! Ms. Putnam’s Beyond Justice is definitely one I recommend if you are looking for the perfect blend of everything rolled into one. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in… Read more »

Revell Reads Review: Pursued by Lisa Harris

Revell Reads Review: Pursued by Lisa Harris

My Thoughts:  Holy smokes! Ms. Harris is a FABULOUS thrilling, suspense author. Her book had it all. I mean all. It had the thrills of suspense, the chilling twists, the roller coaster ups and the breath taking romance that makes up a well rounded, beautifully written romantic suspense novel.  The characters within this book are perfectly chiseled. They are real-to-life and complexly portrayed in this thriller. Nikki, Erika, Tyler and the other secondary characters really pulled me into the heart of the story with them. Every fast paced move, every heart pounding scene truly came to life for me. I loved that!  Ms. Harris had me on the edge of the my seat through this whole book. I read it in one intense sitting! That is how a book is written, that’s for sure. She added the perfect amount of messages from God and kept the story line flowing. This story is filled with hope and trusting in Him. You need both in today’s world!  While this is not the first book in this series, it wasn’t hard to get acquainted with the characters and their stories. But, I will for sure be checking out the first two books in… Read more »

PICT Review: Her Secret by Shelley Shepard Gray

PICT Review: Her Secret by Shelley Shepard Gray

Excerpt CHAPTER 2 Someone was coming. After reeling in his line, Isaac Troyer set his pole on the bank next to Spot, his Australian shepherd, and turned in the direction of the noise. He wasn’t worried about encountering a stranger as much as curious to know who would walk through the woods while managing to disturb every tree branch, twig, and bird in their midst. A silent tracker, this person was not. Beside him, Spot, named for the spot of black fur ringing his eye, pricked his ears and tilted his head to one side as he, too, listened and watched for their guest to appear. When they heard a muffled umph, followed by the crack of a branch, Isaac began to grow amused. Their visitor didn’t seem to be faring so well. He wasn’t surprised. That path was rarely used and notoriously overrun with hollyhocks, poison oak, and ivy. For some reason, wild rosebushes also ran rampant there. Though walking on the old path made for a pretty journey, it also was a somewhat dangerous one, too. Those bushes had a lot of thorns. Most everyone he knew chose to walk on the road instead. He was just wondering… Read more »

BookLookBlogger Review: If I’m Found by Terri Blackstock + GIVEAWAY

BookLookBlogger Review: If I’m Found by Terri Blackstock + GIVEAWAY

Molly’s Thoughts: A long time fan of Ms. Blackstock, I was excited to pick up this book. I wasn’t disappointed, that was for sure! From first page to last, I was on the edge of my seat, devouring the suspense long in to the night. The rush of anticipation was strong with this book! Casey, Dylan, and all the secondary characters are complexly created and I loved that. They need to be for their roles in the plot line. Reading this story transformed me into Casey for the duration of the book. I felt all her emotions, all her fears, all her hopes as if they were my  own. That was powerful! Just when I thought I knew what was coming, Ms. Blackstock twisted the story up and left me in awe, thinking about the twist. Ms. Blackstock once again created a story that is filled with messages from God, characters that are jaw droppingly awesome, and a story line that packs an incredible punch! If you love the anticipation of finding out what happens next, the heart pounding, jaw dropping need to find the clues and reach the end, then this book is for you. However, I must warn… Read more »

Revell Reads Review: Rescue Me by Susan May Warren

Revell Reads Review: Rescue Me by Susan May Warren

This was an enjoyable read! I’m very pleased to have had the chance to read this new book by a very talented author. From start to finish of this well written novel, I was hooked. Every page turn brought something new and captivating to the story and I loved that. I loved Willow. I could see a lot of myself in her. She’s a sweet character and was created perfectly for her role in the story. And the fact that she’s got a “crush” on her sister’s boyfriend??? Loved that!!!! Sam’s character was a bit complex and I loved everything about him. His protectiveness over Willow, his protectiveness of the other characters in the story, really made me fall hard for him. This is definitely a book worth 4 stars that I will have on my keeper shelf for a long time to come. I’ll be recommending it to all my book loving friends that love a book filled with twists, humor and characters that steal your heart. While this was book 2 in a series, the events and characters were well written and didn’t leave me confused and wondering what happened. It’s easily read as a stand alone. Well… Read more »

Revell Reads Review: A Justice Delayed by Patricia Bradley

Revell Reads Review: A Justice Delayed by Patricia Bradley

As a lover of all things crime on television, I was excited to hear of Ms. Bradley’s new release, the first in a new series. This book was filled with the twist and turns of a well written, suspenseful crime drama. From start to finish, Ms. Bradley gave me a roller coaster ride of events. The characters are truly complex and I could relate on more than one occasion to Andi. Her struggles were real-to-life and I felt all her emotions. The intensity of a murdered sister keeps you up long in to the night, desperate to help Andi put together the pieces of the story. I love when a crime book puts me in the center like that. Add in to the mix the hunky detective Will Kincaide as he tries to find a killer and free an innocent person, and this cold case story was quickly a favorite. This was a race against time novel, and a lovely start to a new and exciting crime series. Ms. Bradley never disappoints when she writes. Her stories have a plot of suspense, romance, faith and hope. The reader is left on the edge of their seats, jaw dropped, wondering when the next… Read more »

Book Review: Distortion by Terri Blackstock

Book Review: Distortion by Terri Blackstock

My Thoughts: Terri Blackstock is one of my favorite Christian Suspense authors. Her skills are beyond magnificent and each book is uniquely created. Everytime I sit down to read one of her books, I always expect to end up on the edge of my seat, biting my nails, turning the pages. The need to know what happens next is always powerful. This book, while second in her Moonlighter series, is fast pace and intense, and easily read as a stand alone. From the start with Juliet and Bob, Ms. Blackstock kept me hanging on to every word, every page turn like the story was about me. That’s amazing skills and something I look for with each suspense novel I read. The intensity of the ride with the lies, the realization of what was behind those lies, all of it took me on a ride I won’t soon forget! As with all Ms. Blackstock’s books, I highly recommend this one with 4.5 stars! She’s a whirlwind author who knows what to toss readers that keep them begging for more. The ending of this book has me doing just that…….begging for more in this series! I can’t wait to find out what’s… Read more »
