My Thoughts I love these two authors and their work, and I was excited to see where this book went. And honestly, while I loved that these authors came together and created a captivating story, I was a little lost in some of the areas of the story, so I’ll definitely be going back to read the first two in the series. That said, these characters, both present day, and historical, are beautifully chiseled. Told between two points of view, the authors take the reader on a whirlwind ride through history and contemporary times. I loved visiting Richmond during the Civil War. Historical eras are my favorite! Nicole and Therese quickly swept me into the heart of the story and I felt both of their emotions like they were my own! Despite not reading book 1 and 2 and occasionally struggling to follow the story line, this conclusional book is definitely worth 4 stars. The writing styles of these two authors are beautiful, and mysterious and historical elements are awesome. This book is filled with emotions, thought provoking story lines, family legacies, and Godly messages of faith, trust and hope. I definitely suggest you get this book if you’ve read… Read more »
My Thoughts Oh my goodness! I absolutely loved everything about this book. Roseanna M. I have to say that she did a wonderful job, yet again, and filled this book with wonderful pieces of history, Godly messages of love and hope, and characters that are beautifully created. I loved Rosemary and Peter’s characters. They instantly captured my heart and kept me hooked til the last page. Following Rosemary and her thiefing ways, and Peter’s writing ways, Ms. White really took me on a whirlwind ride. Seeing Peter struggling with his stuttering really brought out the mama in me! I definitely recommend this book with the highest of 5 stars! Filled with faith, love, friendship, and wit, you absolutely do not want to miss this fantabulous start to a new series by the talented hands of Ms. White. My Thoughts Oh my word! I absolutely adored Carrie Fancett Pagels’ work. She is fantabulous with creating her characters in a richly detailed way. The beautiful detail she added to the backdrop of the story really made me feel as though I was on the breathtaking Mackinac Island. Maude and Ben, and even Jack, quickly stole my heart. Sweet little Jack had me smiling more than once! The betrayal that Maude feels when she sees her “intended” married to another woman, was quickly felt in my heart. But, when she “runs” into Ben, the sparks were there and I loved watching their story unfold. Ms. Pagels fills this novel with wonderful descriptions to make the story blossom before the reader. The messages from God of forgiveness, hope, faith and love are woven perfectly throughout. This wonderfully chiseled,4 star book kept me turning the pages long into the night and I highly recommend it to all historical fiction lovers! The characters, the plot line, the messages will all steal your heart and take you on a whirl wind right through Mackinac Island, leaving you wanting more. Visiting Mackinac Island is now at the top of my bucket list thanks to Ms…. Read more »
My Thoughts Ms. Delamere has a new fan in me! I am really glad I took the chance on this book (I almost passed it up as I wasn’t sure if I would like it or not!). Ms. Delamere has a wonderful talent for quickly capturing her readers’ hearts and her attention to historical detail in London was beautifully done. From the start, I was wrapped up in Rosalyn’s story. I was on the streets of London with her, feeling her feelings as if they were my own. The life on stage was vibrantly created and I loved the way the book blossomed into a play itself before my eyes. When Nate was introduced, my heart swooned for him! I loved his character! When he and Rosalyn interacted, I was rooting for them the whole way through the book! I highly recommend this 4 star book. It’s a story of finding where you belong, a story of hope and faith, and God’s guiding light. If you want a book that will capture you, wrap you up in a wonderful adventure of theater and falling in love, then grab a copy of this book! You can follow the tour by visiting… Read more »
My Thoughts I will be honest and say that I wasn’t quite sure if I would like this novel or not. The blurb sounded interesting enough, but it was my first Jan Drexler novel and I hadn’t had the pleasure of reading the first books in this series. But, sitting down, opening the pages, I got lost in the historical detail and wonderful Amish lifestyle. I loved Naomi’s character, and her love for little Davey. The way she took took to him an he to her, really pulled at my heart. When Cap enters the picture, I loved the way their story played out. I was in love with their little group! But, as with any well written story, there is always a character I dislike and in this one I didn’t like Shem. His conniving ways really threw me off of his character. Overall, this was a 3.5 star book that I would encourage all Amish and historical lovers to try. It’s a story filled with God’s love and grace, a story of hope and forgiveness, and a story of longing. Ms. Drexler is a talented author and I’ll be looking forward to reading more of her work!
My Thoughts I’m new to Ms. Johnson’s work, but I won’t be for long! I truly enjoyed this beautifully written novel. It’s the 3rd book in her Keys Of Promise series, but it was still highly enjoyable, despite not reading the first two books. In this novel, Ms. Johnson weaves the perfect combination of faith, hope, and love, along with beautifully depicted historical elements. I was instantly captivated from page one and this book took me on a whirl wind ride until the end. Catherine and Tom both stole my heart for the long run, and I loved following their story! Ms. Johnson created a story well worth 4 stars, for sure! This is a quick, beautiful read and I am already anxious for more! I can’t wait to go back and read the first two books in this wonderful series, and I look forward to adding Ms. Johnson among my favorite authors list! Well done, and bring on the next!
My Thoughts I enjoyed this book so much more than I thought I would. The author is new to me and his writing style is refreshing! The characters within the book really spoke to me and came alive as I followed young Anne and Peter throughout this story. I felt as if I was the one in the middle of it all. I love when a book does that to me. This book is filled with life lessons of having faith, hope, perseverance and relying on the Lord above. Young Anne, bless her. I could see a lot of my own stubborn self in her! She’s a sweet soul and wouldn’t take being told no she couldn’t do something for an answer! She was going to do it and that was that. A woman in the south riding a man’s contraption! Unheard of, but not for Anne! She was going to ride and not be stopped. It was interesting seeing the events of that played out, especially knowing that in today’s society women can do just about anything they want to. I loved Peter’s character, too. Watching him interact with Anne and the other characters was captivating. He struggled so… Read more »
My Thoughts I absolutely love Maggie Brendan and her books. She creates wonderful stories filled with beautiful characters, lots of quirks, and a plot line that will pull you in instantly. Trusting Grace is the third book in this series, but the first one that I have read. I’m so glad that I did! Grace, Robert and the children were all wonderful characters. They came to life instantly, pulling me in, capturing my heart. The interaction between Grace and Robert and Grace and the children left me smiling. The sparks that fly between Grace and Robert are endearing and I loved watching Robert come to terms with the way he feels about Grace. This is a story of anger, love, letting go and moving on. A story of learning to trust again. God works His way into the story line, leaving the reader with messages of hope and faith in the end. If you love a story that will not only warm your heart, but is filled with captivating characters, history, and hope, then look no further than this beautifully woven novel. This is worth 4 star praises and recommendations to all Christian fiction lovers. Ms. Brendan will leave you wanting… Read more »
My Thoughts: This is my first Kristy Cambron book and it most certainly will not be my last. I wasn’t quite sure what to think of it when I got it, and read the synopsis but the cover was very captivating, so I gave it a try. I was not disappointed! In fact, I read this book in less than 48 hours. It was that good. From start to finish, Ms. Cambron creates a captivating plot line that will grip the reader til the end. Following Wren Lockhart literally left me on the edge of my seat, gripping the book, waiting to see what happened next in this beautifully woven tale. It was such a thrilling blend of mystery and intrigue! Ms. Cambron really did a wonderful job on the scenes of history and the characters that came to life. I felt a part of Wren and Agent Matthews’world of Houdini and romance. If you are looking for a laugh out loud book, don’t look here. If you are looking for a book that is full of detail and mystery, will sweep you off your feet, twist you up, and make you land in a place that you just want to… Read more »
It’s been a long time since I sat down and read a Laura Frantz novel. When I saw this one available to read, I jumped on the chance. Something about the blurb of the book just called to me. I wasn’t sure what to expect with this one but it was calling. I am quite pleased that I took the chance on it! It’s a book worth reading for sure. A Moonbow Night takes us to Kentucky and introduces us to Tempe and Sion. The history that is woven, the attention to details so the reader feels a part of Tempe and Sion’s story, is absolutely incredible. I was instantly transported to Kentucky and felt the struggles, the attraction, the ways of the land as if I was truly there. Ms. Frantz created a 5 star worthy novel and wove it with captivating scenes. The characters, the setting, the page turning ups and downs of this beautiful historical novel is one I highly recommend to all! Well done, Ms. Fratz.
