Blogging For Book Review: The Road To Paradise by Karen Barnett

Blogging For Book Review: The Road To Paradise by Karen Barnett

My Thoughts I loved this book and everything about it. It was wonderfully written, with characters that are real-to-life, a setting that will sweep you away to the Mount Ranier National Park and a plot that will leave you dying for more of this talented authors work. It was such a fabulous feeling reading this book.  This novel is a mix of historical and beautiful scenes. I felt as though I was right there with Margie and the Rangers, looking at the parks in front of them. I loved feeling as though the author was writing the story just for me, and gripped me wholly with her wonderful characters, words and messages. These characters, both good and bad, quickly steal your heart and don’t let go until the end! Each page turn brings you further to the heart of Mt. Ranier taking you along for the ride of protecting the park.  This is the first book in Ms. Barnett’s new series and I definitely recommend it with high flying 5 stars! Ms. Barnett is a wonderful author and this book just became one of my top 10 reads for 2017! If you are looking for a book that is chiseled… Read more »

LitFuse Blog Tour Review: Grounded Hearts by Jeanne M. Dickson

LitFuse Blog Tour Review: Grounded Hearts by Jeanne M. Dickson

My Thoughts Ms. Dickson is a new to me author. I really enjoyed getting to know her work through this wonderful historical fiction novel! From start to finish, I was pulled into the center of the story and kept there until the very last page was reached.  This book was a double bonus for me! I have always loved Ireland(even if I haven’t ever visited there!) and I have always loved the World War II era. This book is the best of both those worlds. Filled with wonderful details of historic happenings, and characters like Nan and Dutch that quickly steal your heart, I felt like I was transported back into the world of Hitler, and emotions so strong that they become the reader’s emotions.  Ms. Dickson is definitely an author I recommend. She created this 4 star novel with passionate detail to another place in time, and left me feeling all the feels with this book. I loved the story line of redemption and hope. I can’t wait to read another book by this talented author!    Giveaway One grand prize winner will receive: A copy of Grounded Hearts A Claddagh bracelet A Claddagh jewelry box Visit the tour page here.

My Thoughts Another wonderful Bible Study/Coloring Book combo! These are doing my collections a wonderful world of good. And this one is about my favorite lady of the Bible…..Mary. LitFuse Blog Tour Review: His Guilt by Shelley Shepard Gray

LitFuse Blog Tour Review: His Guilt by Shelley Shepard Gray

My Thoughts Ms. Gray is back with another hit in the Amish Of Hart County series! She never fails to grip me wholly and keep me in the center of the story. This book, just like Her Secret, was an instant gripper for me. Once again, the characters were captivating for me. I loved Mark and Waneta both. Mark’s character really tugged at me the most. I can’t imagine the pain that he endured through life. The things he dealt with in life, you don’t imagine being a part of an Amish novel, but it was and it really made it that much more gripping. Oh to be there! I would go in mama mode on him and hug him big! Waneta’s character, well, she was a little too judgy at times, but seeing God work on her, really made me love her that much more. This book is intriguing, emotional, and gripping. It is not a sweet Amish romance, but it is a wonderful Amish novel in a series that will steal your heart, just the same. You will go through the roller coaster ride of ups and downs as you fall in love with each character, as you… Read more »

TLC Book Tours Review: Sweetbriar Cottage by Denise Hunter

TLC Book Tours Review: Sweetbriar Cottage by Denise Hunter

My Thoughts When it comes to Denise Hunter books, either I like them, or I don’t. I have found some of hers I love, and some of hers, I just can’t get into. Sweetbriar Cottage, however, is one that I could get into and I loved it! She took wonderful characters and added them to a plot line that is all the feels and sucks you in completely.  Noah and Josephine’s characters are complex and really amazing for their roles. I loved seeing their reactions to the devastating news that their divorce wasn’t finalized. And, watching them when they realize they can’t leave the cottage, well, it is really a story filled with ups and downs and ins and outs.  This is a story of learning to forgive, of letting go, of realizing that what one’s heart may think is wants, isn’t what God wants or has planned. Each page turn opened my eyes a little more to my own past and my own present and really appreciated Ms. Hunter for that. This is definitely a 5 star worthy read and one that I highly recommend to all. It is going on my keeper shelf and I can say that… Read more »

LitFuse Blog Tour Review: My Daughter’s Legacy by Mindy Starns Clark and Leslie Gould + Giveaway

LitFuse Blog Tour Review: My Daughter’s Legacy by Mindy Starns Clark and Leslie Gould + Giveaway

My Thoughts I love these two authors and their work, and I was excited to see where this book went. And honestly, while I loved that these authors came together and created a captivating story, I was a little lost in some of the areas of the story, so I’ll definitely be going back to read the first two in the series. That said, these characters, both present day, and historical, are beautifully chiseled. Told between two points of view, the authors take the reader on a whirlwind ride through history and contemporary times. I loved visiting Richmond during the Civil War. Historical eras are my favorite! Nicole and Therese quickly swept me into the heart of the story and I felt both of their emotions like they were my own! Despite not reading book 1 and 2 and occasionally struggling to follow the story line, this conclusional book is definitely worth 4 stars. The writing styles of these two authors are beautiful, and mysterious and historical elements are awesome. This book is filled with emotions, thought provoking story lines, family legacies, and Godly messages of faith, trust and hope. I definitely suggest you get this book if you’ve read… Read more »

I have to say that she did a wonderful job, yet again, and filled this book with wonderful pieces of history, Godly messages of love and hope, and characters that are beautifully created. I loved Rosemary and Peter’s characters. They instantly captured my heart and kept me hooked til the last page. Following Rosemary and her thiefing ways, and Peter’s writing ways, Ms. White really took me on a whirlwind ride. Seeing Peter struggling with his stuttering really brought out the mama in me!  I definitely recommend this book with the highest of 5 stars! Review: My Heart Belongs On Mackinac Island:Maude’s Mooring by Carrie Fancett Pagels

Review: My Heart Belongs On Mackinac Island:Maude’s Mooring by Carrie Fancett Pagels

My Thoughts Oh my word! I absolutely adored Carrie Fancett Pagels’ work. She is fantabulous with creating her characters in a richly detailed way. The beautiful detail she added to the backdrop of the story really made me feel as though I was on the breathtaking Mackinac Island. Maude and Ben, and even Jack, quickly stole my heart. Sweet little Jack had me smiling more than once! The betrayal that Maude feels when she sees her “intended” married to another woman, was quickly felt in my heart. But, when she “runs” into Ben, the sparks were there and I loved watching their story unfold. Ms. Pagels fills this novel with wonderful descriptions to make the story blossom before the reader. The messages from God of forgiveness, hope, faith and love are woven perfectly throughout. This wonderfully chiseled,4 star book kept me turning the pages long into the night and I highly recommend it to all historical fiction lovers! The characters, the plot line, the messages will all steal your heart and take you on a whirl wind right through Mackinac Island, leaving you wanting more. Revell Reads Blog Tour Review: Under A Summer Sky by Melody Carlson

Revell Reads Blog Tour Review: Under A Summer Sky by Melody Carlson

My Thoughts I have always enjoyed reading Ms. Carlson’s books and this book is no exception! She once again hooked me from start to finish with this beautifully written novel. It is the third in the Follow Your Heart series, but the first one that I have read. Despite that, I was still instantly captivated by her beautifully portrayed characters and vivid details within the pages.  Growing up, one of my two best friends was the boy next door. Him and I used to do everything together. I used to dream of us growing up and getting married, having babies, and being a happy family. But, sadly, that was a long ago dream and when I had to move away. Reading Nicole’s story really brought back my childhood memories. I loved that feeling!  The backdrop of Savannah, GA was wonderful. I went to Savannah once a year or so back and loved the scenery. This story made me feel as if I was back again! Following Nicole and seeing her summer unfold in a whirlwind of events, from managing the art gallery to seeing two of the “boys” she grew up with again, really hooked me!  This is definitely a… Read more »
