What a sweet, sweet book! I wish this would have been around when I was a babysitter and had those fist-time-babysitter jitters. It’s full of lessons for both the babysitter and the child they are watching. I have two boys who love getting into mischief so Sugarpaw and his antics really reminded me of my everyday life, and not that of a babysitter’s life either! But, Sugarpaw is feeling left out and unloved by being left with a babysitter for the first time. Will he behave or will he be able to get his new babysitter, Bonnie Whiskers, in trouble so he never has to be left again?
Through a lesson in love and patience along with understanding, VS Grenier creates a 5 star children’s book that is perfect for transitioning those young children to a babysitter for the first time. And, thanks to a rockin’ good illustrator, Kevin Scott Collier, the pictures in this story portray Sugarpaw and Bonnie Whiskers perfectly. The pictures are colorful and eye catching for both adults and children alike. This is high on my children’s book recommendation list.
