Goddess Fish Promotions VBB: The Power of Prayer by Lorana Hoopes

Goddess Fish Promotions VBB: The Power of Prayer by Lorana Hoopes

Excerpt: What does he mean he can’t marry me? This had to be some kind of joke. My shoulders slumped forward and my knuckles holding the phone turned white. “That’s it? That’s all? What does this mean? What am I supposed to tell everyone out there?” There were nearly two hundred people waiting in the sanctuary. Shaina lowered her head, unable to meet my eyes and bit her lip again. My eyes narrowed to slits as I crossed the room and grabbed Shaina’s arm, eliciting a yelp of either surprise or pain. I didn’t know which, and at that moment, I didn’t care. “What aren’t you telling me?” Her eyes narrowed to slits. “There’s someone else, isn’t there? Who is it? If you know Shaina, you have to tell me.” When Shaina lifted her head, tears glistened in her eyes. “I’m so sorry, Callie.” I dropped my arm and stared at Shaina. My mouth hung open like a barn door as I tried to understand what she was saying. She’s sorry? What does she have to be sorry for? It’s not like her fiancé left her. It’s not like—Anger flared up in me as the realization set in. The world… Read more »

Goddess Fish Promotions VBT + Interview: Lake Of Sins: Hangman’s Army by L. S. O’Dea

Goddess Fish Promotions VBT + Interview: Lake Of Sins: Hangman’s Army by L. S. O’Dea

Excerpt: Hugh Trinity didn’t reply, but her back was straighter than before.  He was getting on her nerves.  Good because she sure got on his.  She was nothing but trouble, an attractive know-it-all who refused to listen to anyone.  His hand met the end of the rope.  It was still a long way to the ground.   Jackson waited alongside the building with Tim.  They were both flat against the wall, trying not to be seen.   “Drop.  You’ll be fine.”  Her voice was soft, no longer acidic and mocking. He couldn’t deal with her being kind to him.  They’d done so well bickering.  The trip had been fast and he hadn’t thought much about the danger.  “I’m an Almighty.  My kind doesn’t always land on their feet.”   “Let go,” she said, a hint of anger in her voice. “I will.”  His hands tightened on the rope.  A fall like this could break something.   “Now,” she snapped.  “Or I’ll kick you in the face and say a prayer that you land on your head.” Her foot waved above his head.  He wouldn’t put it past her to do what she threatened.  She’d probably enjoy it.  He closed his… Read more »

Review: Beyond Justice by Cara Putnam

Review: Beyond Justice by Cara Putnam

My Thoughts:  I absolutely love Cara Putman and her whirlwind rides she gives us with each new book. Beyond Justice is a wonderful addition to her work! From the first page, Ms. Putnam had me, hook-line-sinker, right in the middle of an intense story that she filled with soul stealing characters and a roller coaster ride!  Ms. Putman weaves a story filled with not just wonderfully created characters, but edge-of-seat, heart-pounding suspense with a dash of romance, and a whole lot of seeking out God. I was biting my nails, pulling my hair, sliding to the edge of my seat…..well, let’s just say I could not sit still through this entire book. Just when I would think I had it all figured out, praying to God I had it right, Ms. Putnam would throw in a new page turner and bam. I’m swept right back up in to the roller coaster.  This is definitely a 4 star book. Anything less would be a disgrace to this amazing suspense novel! Ms. Putnam’s Beyond Justice is definitely one I recommend if you are looking for the perfect blend of everything rolled into one. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in… Read more »

Goddess Fish Promotions VBB Review + Scavenger Hunt: A Mother’s Love by Charlotte Hubbard

Goddess Fish Promotions VBB Review + Scavenger Hunt: A Mother’s Love by Charlotte Hubbard

EXCERPT “I want three chickie legs and a big ole bunch of taters,” Gracie announced as she pointed to the food in the steam table. “Lotsa gravy, too—right, Matthias? Do you like lotsa gravy on your taters?” “That looks like awesome gravy.” Matthias smiled at the women who were filling his plate. “If I could have some on my chicken as well as my taters,” he said, winking at Gracie, “that would be wonderful. Denki, ladies. This is a fabulous meal.” As Rose gazed around the crowded greenhouse, looking for three empty chairs, she was very aware that folks were watching her—whispering about the man who followed her between the tables, carrying Gracie as though she were his. Rose wanted to announce, loud and clear, that Matthias Wagler was only here for the food. But they’ll know that’s not true. Just like you do. Rose’s cheeks tingled with heat. She hurried toward the last unoccupied table in the back corner of the big glassed-in room, not meeting anyone’s gaze. Settling into a folding chair, Rose sighed heavily as she gazed at the plate she’d filled. Why had she taken so much food when she had no appetite? Why had her… Read more »

Revell Reads Review: Pursued by Lisa Harris

Revell Reads Review: Pursued by Lisa Harris

My Thoughts:  Holy smokes! Ms. Harris is a FABULOUS thrilling, suspense author. Her book had it all. I mean all. It had the thrills of suspense, the chilling twists, the roller coaster ups and the breath taking romance that makes up a well rounded, beautifully written romantic suspense novel.  The characters within this book are perfectly chiseled. They are real-to-life and complexly portrayed in this thriller. Nikki, Erika, Tyler and the other secondary characters really pulled me into the heart of the story with them. Every fast paced move, every heart pounding scene truly came to life for me. I loved that!  Ms. Harris had me on the edge of the my seat through this whole book. I read it in one intense sitting! That is how a book is written, that’s for sure. She added the perfect amount of messages from God and kept the story line flowing. This story is filled with hope and trusting in Him. You need both in today’s world!  While this is not the first book in this series, it wasn’t hard to get acquainted with the characters and their stories. But, I will for sure be checking out the first two books in… Read more »

Blogging For Books Review: Back In The Saddle by Ruth Logan Herne

Blogging For Books Review: Back In The Saddle by Ruth Logan Herne

My Thoughts: I’m a big cowboy romance fan, so I was excited to grab this one to review. Ruth Logan Herne was a new to me author and the synopsis of the story sounded intriguing. So, I settled in for the day/night and read through nearly to the end (then I got tired so HAD to go to sleep so my CNA job wouldn’t fall to pieces the next day!), but quickly picked it back up and finished it the next morning. It was that good. I loved every part of this story wholly and it will be with me forever! This is a book that I will be sharing with all who want a wonderful, inspiring read!  Colt, Angelina, Nick and Sam, along with the other characters in the story, really gripped my heart. I loved watching Colt and his changes in life after leaving his city life to come home to his country family ranch. Angelina, bless her, I loved her character! Seeing her interact with Colt was a refreshing part of the story! These two were perfectly chiseled to be just the right amount of flawed.  I can’t give this book less than 5 stars! It’s worthy… Read more »
