Author Interview: Surrender the Wind’s Rita Gerlace

Author Interview: Surrender the Wind’s Rita Gerlace

Welcome, Rita, to Book Reviews by Buuklvr81. Thanks for stopping by and sharing with us a bit about the novel, Surrender the Wind! Let’s start the interview off by asking where you’re from and what’s some of your latest news? I grew up in a Maryland suburb outside of Washington. Well, I’ve been co-coordinating a huge book signing event alongside author Wanda Dyson, and Leah Morgan, an aspiring writer. It will be held on November 28 in Hagerstown, Maryland with 13 CBA authors in attendance, two of which are Christy Award winners. It’s getting a lot of buzz and the attention of our publishers.I’m nearly finished writing a new novel, and planning out the sequel a little at a time. When did you consider yourself a writer and what inspired you to write your first novel? I’ve always loved books and reading. Wow. This novel is a perfect read for those young girls who are growing up into beautiful young women and facing the daily struggles and growing pains. I haven’t had the fortune of reading Miracle Girls or Miracle Girls #2, but if they are like this book then they are worth reading! Once a truly shy girl, she is becoming more popular at school. And then there’s the new, handsome teenage boy at school who shows some interest in her. Will this new interest cause a rift between the girl and her serious boyfriend? And will troubles at home arrise and upset her world even more? She has friends, dubbed the Miracle Girls, she can turn to-or can she, because they seem to be having troubles of their own?  Find out in this exciting new book from two very talented authors! A-Z Wednesday’s with Reading at the Beach!

A blogger friend of mine does a fun thing each week that I am going to start doing. It’s called A-Z Wednesdays! It’s fun looking through all your books and picking one out whose title starts out with that letter! So for today’s letter it’s “I”….the book on my book shelf that starts with “I” is Deborah Bedford’s If I Had You. I will not be leaving a review for it today as I haven’t had a chance to do a review for it but thought I would list it since it is the only one on my shelf right now that starts with “I”!! 🙂 If I Had You Synopsis: From bestselling author Deborah Bedford comes the moving tale of an estranged mother and daughter, and the child who forces their old conflicts back into the light. Buy it here *Head on over to Reading at the Beach’s blog for more about A-Z Wednesday’s!! *
