Guest Post & Giveaway: Mistletoe And Magic’s Gina Ardito

Magical Christmas Memories by Gina Ardito I grew up with a mother of Polish descent, so there were always lots of bad ethnic jokes and the perfect excuse for every screw-up (“My Polish is showing.”) in our household. But we also had some wonderful traditions—like at Christmas. For us, Christmas Eve was the most important holiday of the year. In my story, “The Gift of the Magic,” featured in the Christmas anthology, Mistletoe and Magic, I managed to cover a lot of the holiday traditions so important to my mother’s ancestral heritage. There were a lot, though, I didn’t get to include. So, come back the house on Long Island in the 1970s where I grew up, and share some traditional Polish Yuletide cheer. Don’t worry that you weren’t invited: according to Polish custom, surprise guests are considered good luck for Christmas. We’ll have to enter through the back door, though, because the dining room table has taken over the living room to accommodate all the guests, making opening the front door impossible. Okay. Long time no post. I’m sorry about that,y’all. Life got in the way, which, I know is no excuse. But, it did. I got married, moved out, and then unexpectedly, my dad got diagnosed Thanksgiving night with Cancer. Having to take time off work to help my family with that, I have some extra time on my hands and can get back into the blogging scene full swing. 2014 Contemporary Romance Reading Challenge

The Contemporary Romance Reading Challenge was originally created and hosted by Pearl’s World of Romance, then was passed on to Fatin at Romance Book Maven, and is now hosted by The Book Vixen. Reading Challenge Details: Runs January 1, 2014 – December 31, 2014 (books read prior to 1/1/2014 do not count towards the challenge). You can join anytime before 9/30/2014. Sign up on The Book Vixen’s blog. The goal is to read 10 contemporary romance novels. Books that qualify for this challenge can be young adult, new adult, or adult. Books can be M/F, M/M, or F/F. Books must be a work of fiction (sorry, nonfiction does not qualify for this challenge). Romances with the following elements do not qualify for this reading challenge: paranormal, historical, time-travel, fantasy, science fiction, or mystery/suspense/thriller.
